EXTENDO® Collaboration with Cellografica Gerosa wins Best Packaging Award for Quality Design
Gerosa Group, in strong collaboration with Taghleef and other industry stakeholders, won at the recent Best Packaging 2020 Awards under the category of Quality Design. The Best Packaging Awards 2020 Ceremony took place on the 14th October, which was promoted by II Sole24 Ore, in partnership with Istituto Italiano Imballaggio and Conai along with Ipack-Ima 2022, as main partner for the Best Packaging Session.
The G4R project by Gerosa Group targets to create an innovative stand-up pouch for grated cheese packaging that is meant to replace a non-recyclable solution and aims to combat food waste.
Taghleef’s contribution in making this a success story was by providing EXTENDO® XTMU, an ultra-high barrier film that has excellent transparency and oxygen barrier properties. By replacing the initial triplex structure based on PET/met PET/PE which would pose a negative impact on the recycling process, the proposed solution allows a complete redesign of the packaging, making it more recyclable as it is compatible with existing polyolefin streams.
Indeed, a truly successful and winning solution can be made when together, we innovate.
